TEF MEANINGFUL ENGAGEMENT CLASSES
Food insecurity is growing at an alarming rate and too many of our neighbors are unable to put food on the table. Our local Food Pantries are experiencing the stress of meeting the weekly numbers of increasing families in need of relief. Did you know that sadly there are too many students who are not getting nutritious meals on the weekends and during school vacations? There are 177 days when students are out of school, placing a burden on families who are struggling to put adequate food on the table.

Serve our students (sos) initiative
Too many school children do not have adequate or even any food over the weekends, school vacations, holidays and summer break. We have created an extension of the Community Giving Cupboard initiative called SOS to help address this urgent need. We are excited to share that we're now providing school break lunches for families who rely on school lunches during the academic year. Our generous Dreamers enthusiastically pack ingredients for a minimum of 225 lunches for each delivery.
Your donation of $100 buys food for more than 50 lunches!
the starfish parable is our guiding belief
Strolling along the edge of the sea, a man catches sight of a young woman who appears to be engaged in a ritual dance. She stoops down, then straightens to her full height, casting her arm out in an arc.
Drawing closer, he sees the beach around her is littered with starfish, and she is throwing them one by one into the sea. He lightly mocks her: “There are stranded starfish as far as the eye can see, for miles up the beach. What difference can saving a few of them possibly make?”
Smiling, she bends down and once more tosses a starfish out over the water, saying serenely, “It certainly makes a difference to this one.”
